Minimum Candidate Requirements•5 + Triage, debug, and resolve software issues reported from internal and customer site testing to support a hardening and deployment effort on our Linux based Tru2way settop box platforms. Focus will be on OS and cable TV services functionality as provided to the middleware and application level code. Follow up on daily stability test reports, customer reported problems, and internal defect reports. Collaborate and coordinate with other team members, report progress in defect review meetings, develop and deliver code fixes per our software development process. The successful candidate will apply strong software problem solving skills and collaborate with other engineers in multiple locations. The candidate will combine initiative, technical skill, and strong communication capabilities to triage reported issues, efficiently leverage functional area experts, and deliver high quality fixes to meet customer deployment needs. Requirements: - Linux real-time operating system development and debugging experience - Embedded system development experience - Demonstrated strength in software debugging and problem solving in a complex system environment - Digital TV delivery system experience - Strong communication, initiative, and collaborative skills - 5+ years related digital TV embedded software experience - 9+ years software industry experience. - C/C++ - BSCS or equivalent minimum Preferred experience - CATV settop development experience - CATV standards and technologies; ATSC, Conditional Access, Copy Protection/DRM, DVR, VOD & IPPV, IB/OOB carousels and streams, MPEG transport stream components, system control and information - Home network content sharing technologies; MoCA, UPnP, DLNA, etc. - Tru2way, OCAP, and Open Cable - PowerTV OS, Scientific-Atlanta DBDS - IP networking years development in a Linux development environment.•5 + years experience with software development using C or C++•3 + years development on embedded systems•3 + years experience with digital television systems•Self motivated and ability to work independently using his/her own initiative and judgment•Willingness to adapt quickly to changing situations•Excellent written and oral communications skillsPreferred Candidate Requirements•2+ years of IP networking (TCP/IP, UDP/IP, Multicast)Engineer Responsibilities:i.Software design, implementation, unit test, integration, and troubleshooting of assigned software modulesii.Complete, detailed documentation describing the design and implementation of assigned software modulesiii.Customer discussions and support of assigned software modules(iii) Remote assistanceiv.Providing software updates incorporating previously delivered individual fixes and mutually agreed upon enhancements;iv.Software defect investigation and resolution;v.Maintenance/trouble shooting assistance;vi.Procedural advice;vii.Handling of informational type calls
